On 22 February, my brother went off to the lcoal hospital’s emergency room due to our local GP not being available due to a bad headache he has been sufferring on and off for over 6 weeks and the one in the few days before 22 Feb was particularly bad.
He walked to the train instead of driving and nearly collapsed on the train station stairs it was that bad unbeknown to anyone that he was actually bleeding in the brain.
Investigation at the ER showed he had multiple tumours (they can’t determine how many) on the brain the largest affecting his balance so he was admitted that day and on the 2 March had the largest removed to give him back his balance, it took them a few days to locate the primary sources as the tumours were secondary, the primary appeared to be in his right lung. He had given up smoking 11 years prior due to his other condition.
Due to the type of tumuor depending on treatment doing any good to prolong his life he may only have three months to live.
The amazing thing is that too look at my brother you would not believe there is anything wrong with him. Due to brain surgery he has been told that he can’t drive for the next three months but since he was released from hospital on 8 March he has been on the go during the day non-stop.
He did odd jobs work in the last year or so due to another medical situation and one of his clients he just had to go and do her garden, this lady is 87 and was in hopsital at the same time unbeknown to my brother, but sadly she will be going to Calvary Hospital in the not too distance future due to the fact she has cancer herself and they cannot do any more for her, he had his gardening equipment in a backpack and took himself off on foot and public transport to help her out.
I know that this energy will start to wane but the question is when. His appetite just does not stop but increase and I believe the medication is a cause of this.
He has a visit with the Cancer doctors on 16 March, to find out what and how treatment will be, so we just take each day as it comes at the moment, ensuring he takes is medication and is well fed and that is all we can do. Plus encourage him to get his affairs in order for the second time in 11 years.
