• Challenge ahead

Lizardsview has for a few months been monitoring a mole on her shin, she was very aware of what it was.

So on 9 October, went to the GP to have it cut out and was confirmed that it was a melanoma the following day, so currently it has not been stitched up as an appointment was made to see a specialist on 14 October for it to be further excised and then stitched as the GP still has his training wheels on in this area of his training. It seriously is not fun when you are unemployed and you have to deal with these challenges that enter your life unexpectedly, especially when Specialists are so expensive and will only reduce their costs a minimum amount. The Australian Government needs to work this better for those on low incomes when this type of challenges are presented.

So today I have a 2.5 hr journey from my home on one side of Sydney to the specialist on the other side of Sydney by public transport then the return journey, I do have to asked why there are not enough specialist in different areas of the city to reduce this travel time as it is the most draining part of the treatment. Next time I will go to the guy who did the one in my arm, he is closer and gets the job done quickly even if he is a dermatologist, that is what he does deals with the skin.
