• Gardening is hard to keep up with

As most people know and realise Sydney has been hit with constant rain and our the State of NSW has been subject to flooding due to this weather pattern and they are stating it is not yet over.

Well Friday evening I decided that as the good weather was holding I would mow all our lawns except one which I use the line trimmer on as it is small and a hassle to get the lawn mower up on to it due to the immovable vehicle in the driveway.

So 1.5 hours later the mowing job was completed, I left the edging which was the worst for wear with massive runners as I had not done the edges for some weeks. Not sure why I sat down either to have a drink or do somthing but as a result the back went into spasms so getting into and out of a chair was difficult so 2 hot paks later and the a nights sleep, things felt better but the was still a nigglingnof discomfort.

Being stubborn I wanted the edging done at the front of the house so off I went with my tools, with only the driveway to tidy up, my line trimmer ran out of cord so of course one sits down to install new cord for 10 minutes to continue the job and off goes the back for a 2nd time, and with me a pile of rubbish on the road and pathway to the house and a garbage bin as well full to the brim bending was clearly out of the equation. My lovely mother stepped in and did that clean up, whilst I took a walk to the local Chemist to fill a prescription which seem to add more warmth to the back and settle it down.

I can confirm that the lawns and edging did get finished on Saturday and once again it is to the standard of my late father’s workmanship, but the edging in the backyard needs to be completed but at least one does not walk through spongy long grass to the compost bin at thismpresent time.

So I attempted to further relax my back with a smigeon of quilting.
