Quilt costing to sell
People often wonder when they make a quilt how to cost it to sell the first time.
Lizzardsview has put this little tutorial together to show you how to cost a quilt for selling.
It is very simple in the approach. So lets say I wish to sell the below quilt that I recently completed.
First obtain the following information:
- Size of the quilt (Height by Width): 39″ x 39″ /144 = 10.56 square feet
- Cost of fabric per metre average (find the high and lost cost of fabric in your fabric store (mine is AUD$23.50)
- Multiple size of quilt by square feet x cost of fabric per metre average = 10.56 X 23.50 = AUD$248.21 (round down or up to the nearest dollar figure)
- Total price to sell would be AUD$248.00
This is the basis of costing a quilt for sale.
